Two-thirds (65%) of the world's agricultural land (which is about 35-30% of the world's surface) is used to raise animals for food. This is land that can be used to grow more crops to feed people (the starving millions around the world), and yet is used to feed our addiction to meat. The high percentage is not surprising given that over 45 billion (45,000,000,000) animals are killed every year for food around the world.
